THE EXPERIENCE

How many times have we wanted to get out of the city and relax, even if it was just for a weekend?

City residents who do not have a village have the opportunity to sponsor abandoned centenary olive trees in Oliete, Teruel, follow their progress through new technologies and, best of all, get to know their adopted village located in the Aragonese region of Andorra-Sierra de Arcos.

They also participate in an oil tasting in our oil mill, coming from these recovered olive trees, and discover the major tourist attractions of Oliete as the Sima de San Pedro, the Iberian settlements, the solar calendar or the reservoir of Cueva Foradada and Congosto, all of them located in the Cultural Park of the Martín River.

Disconnecting from the city

How many times have we found ourselves in a city, full of traffic jams, running through the streets without really knowing why?

How many times have we wanted to get out of that city and relax, even if it was just for a weekend?

And if I told you that most of the people who live in the city have no town to go to… At least until Apadrinaunolivo.org appeared. Thanks to us, city residents have the possibility to sponsor abandoned centenary olive trees in Oliete, Teruel, follow their progress through the use of new technologies and, best of all, get to know their adopted village located in the Aragonese region of Andorra-Sierra de Arcos.
During their stay in Oliete they are not only contributing to the improvement of the environment, to restore an ecosystem, but also to a solidary cause that seeks to generate sustainable rural development, settling population through the creation of employment for people who do not want to leave their village and people with intellectual disabilities.

Connecting with the village

In addition, they not only know their olive tree, but also participate in an oil tasting in our mill of the typical variety of the area, the Empeltre, coming from these recovered olive trees, and discover the major tourist attractions of Oliete as the Sima de San Pedro, the Iberian settlements, the solar calendar or the reservoir of Cueva Foradada and Congosto, all of them located in the Cultural Park of the Martín River.

During their stay they will be able to know first-hand the experience of living for a few days in a village, interact with its people and see how, thanks to the sponsorship of an olive tree, they contribute to generate employment, to repopulate the village and even how they have been involved in preventing the Oliete school from closing due to lack of children, hiring an olive mill manager with school-age children.
