THE EXPERIENCE

Rural Safari through Villarroya de los Pinares.

We are shepherds and we want to show the work and dedication that is needed to take care of the sheep and all the animals that live in the 108 hectares of the Masía de los Baños (sheep, goats, cows, horses, chickens, mules, donkeys, turkeys, rabbits).

As you enter the estate, the animals will come out to meet you. We will feed them, touch them, collect their eggs and learn about their habits.

During the breeding season, we will bottle-feed the lambs and, if we are lucky, we will see them being born. A wonderful experience for both adults and children.

From the hand of Tere and Visi you will learn how the farmhouse animals live, what they do, and what their secrets are. Upon entering the 108-hectare farm, the animals come out to meet you and little by little you will get to know them all. You will see how docile many of them are, because they have been raised with great care. Visi will explain the types of animals, and she will focus on ruminants, the majority on the farm. She will tell you the characteristics of each one, from the parts of a cow’s stomach to how a chicken’s egg is formed or how a turkey’s eyes move. You will be able to feed the animals, collect the newly laid eggs, nurse the lambs during the breeding season, caress the horses, etc.

You will understand what is the relationship with the environment in which they move, that the
animals, what their food is and how it is produced. You will also learn a little about the history of the farmhouse and its surroundings. And to end the day, nothing better than some typical pasta made in the town and a little wine.

The Masía de los Baños is located 4.5 kms. from Villarroya de los Pinares. It is accessed by a well-conditioned track, but if it is not in optimal condition, the owners will take you in an all-terrain vehicle.
To enjoy this experience it is ideal to go first thing in the morning, at 10 a.m. in summer and at 11 a.m. in winter. It is also possible to go in the afternoon.
The duration of the visit is from 2 hours and a half to 3 hours. Minimum 3 people and maximum 10 people. It can be enjoyed year-round, but spring, summer, and fall are recommended

The owners live their work, they have dedicated their entire lives to it, and now that Iván, Tere’s son, stays on the farm to continue the business, they have time and desire to show visitors how the farmhouse is managed and How are your animals? They have the rural house Casa Chulilla in Villarroya. They began by showing their farmhouse to clients and, little by little, to friends, friends of friends, commitments… And they discovered that they loved it, and that the people who came enjoyed the activity.
