WINE TOURISM ROUTES IN ARAGÓN

A TRIP FULL OF FLAVOR. DISCOVER THE FOUR GREAT WINE TOURISM ROUTES WE HAVE IN ARAGON AND OUR FOUR ROUTES DESIGNED FOR YOU TO DISCOVER THE LANDSCAPE, THE WINE AND ITS MONUMENTAL CITIES. COME, YOU WILL NOT REPENT!

ROUTE OF THE GARNACHA

The Denomination of Origin of Campo de Borja is one of the oldest in Aragon, its vineyards have been documented since 1203. The main variety grown, 80% is Garnacha, which determines the flavor of these dense, tasty wines with fruity aromas. Through  the Garnacha Route  you can visit from the 17th century palace of the Counts of Bureta  to an authentic  hill winery  (a centuries-old tradition in  Aragon ), caves dug with picks and shovels in soft lands in which families traditionally they made their own wine.

What to do on the Garnacha Route?

CYCLOTURIST GARNACHA AND BIKE

Garnacha & Bike offers you a 152 km route full of landscapes and towns where you will discover their people, their way of life and their hospitality. Along the route the world of wine will surround you as there are more than 7,000 hectares of vineyards settled throughout the DO Campo de Borja territory (Tarazona and Moncayo and Campo de Borja region).

MUSHING BETWEEN VINEYARDS

We willshare an experience of active and unique participation in the art of traveling aboard a wheeled sled pulled by the team of Nordic adopted dogs, exploring and discovering splendid and majestic landscapes among the vineyards and varieties of olive and almond trees and orchards of the Garnacha Empire.

CARIÑENA WINE ROUTE

If we talk about wine in Aragon we talk about Cariñena. It is the oldest production area, dating back to Roman times. Its fame increased in the late Middle Ages, but the great increase in commercialization took place at the beginning of the 19th century until it reached European fame from 1865, when phylloxera reduced French production. The  Campo de Cariñena Wine Route runs around wine of course, but also water, ceramics, some Roman remains, Goya paintings, charming villages and a lot of nature.

PERSEIDS AMONG VINEYARDS

You will see the most famous rain of stars from a vineyard of Ignacio Marín in Cariñena, in addition to learning about the cultivation of the vine by the hand of an experienced winegrower, there is a guided tasting accompanied by a snack dinner.

With the help of a telescope we will observe the night sky while live jazz sounds in the background.

NIGHT OF SAN JUAN IN BODEGAS TIERRA DE CUBAS

We celebrate the beginning of summer on a night as special as that of San Juan at Tierra de Cubas Winery. They will be able to find different proposals such as: selected aperitif stands, show-cooking, fire juggling show, live music concert, fireworks, cocktail area … All this celebrating a day around wine and fire where there will be a “cream” of wishes.

YOGA AMONG VINEYARDS
At the foot of the Sierra de Algairén, surrounded by vineyards and with a spectacular sun, the Yoga session among vineyards begins. A day in the open air, to discover ourselves, to take advantage of the physical, mental and spiritual benefits that are achieved in yoga. And if we do all this in such a special enclave surrounded by vineyards … the feeling of peace and well-being is multiplied by 2.

VIÑARTE
The experience combines the visit to the winery and the tasting of its wines with artistic painting, where a professional teacher teaches us to create a great work of art step by step.
A different night away from home. Tasting wine while transforming a blank canvas into a true masterpiece. Also, if this masterpiece is one of the labels of the wines we taste … what can go wrong?

WINE AND TRUFFLE DAYS
Throughout a trip through the Sierra de Algairén and the Cariñena countryside we will get to know two of the star products of the area: the wine of the Denomination of Origin and the truffles.
Find out where the black truffles come from. Participate in their search. Dig up one, two or three with your hands … Accompanied by a dog guide and another human we will spend the morning collecting these delicacies. To, of course, taste it afterwards. Savor this precious mushroom in a 5-course tasting menu and toast with an ecological and natural wine like life itself.

CALATAYUD WINE ROUTE

The Calatayud Wine Route is one of the highest altitude wine-growing areas in Spain, with centuries-old vineyards in extreme conditions. The old vines of Calatayud, with more than 50 years of age of the vineyard, define the unique character of this appellation. Two totally different styles mark this route: Mudejar and Cistercian. The Mudejar in the Calatayud region is very rich and highlights the Church, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001, of Tobed.

The Cistercian has its representation in the oasis of the Stone Monastery. Its historic garden full of lakes, waterfalls and waterfalls will surprise you.

SOMONTANO WINE ROUTE

In  Somontano , some 4,000 hectares are dedicated to the cultivation of the vine and more than 30 wineries are deployed, with two native vines of the region: the moristel and the parraleta. On this route you will discover the beauty of the Aragonese Pre-Pyrenees and one of its most famous areas the Sierra de Guara and its canyons, which are the mecca of canyoning in Europe. In addition to the beauty of Alquézar, one of the most beautiful towns in Spain, you can enjoy Barbastro, a city where people live very well.
