CARIÑENA WINE ROUTE
If we talk about wine in Aragon we talk about Cariñena. It is the oldest production area, dating back to Roman times. Its fame increased in the late Middle Ages, but the great increase in commercialization took place at the beginning of the 19th century until it reached European fame from 1865, when phylloxera reduced French production. The Campo de Cariñena Wine Route runs around wine of course, but also water, ceramics, some Roman remains, Goya paintings, charming villages and a lot of nature.
