THE EXPERIENCE

Mariano Gavín Suñén, better known as the Bandido Cucaracha (Cockroach Bandit) lived in the mountains of the Sierra de Alcubierre. Life circumstances turned him into a bandit, while history and time turned him into a legend, giving a romantic touch to his wrongdoings.

Our 4×4 route THE WALKS OF THE BANDIT CUCARACHA takes us through the most emblematic places of the Sierra de Alcubierre, guiding us through the story of his life, from his birth in Alcubierre to his death in Lanaja. In it we will be able to discover the wonderful places that the Monegros hides from us and at the same time we will better understand why and how they were used by El Cucaracha and his gang. We will know Alcubierre by the outside of the house Ruata, the three Huegas or the post of San Simón, the hermitage of Magallón de Leciñena, San Caprasio de Farlete, Peñalbeta in Lanaja… and all this without getting tired on board our 4×4 vehicle.
